A brief history

International football has experienced a staggering metamorphosis. Nowadays, football has developed into a serious economic sector throughout the world. However, the organisational side of the sector simultaneously expanded into a “jungle” of regulations and rules: European law, national law and regulations of (inter)national football associations. This fragmentation of applicable laws and regulations eventually causes for confusion and conflicts.

The modern organisation of football demands a collective voice from the representatives of the group that keeps international football in motion and fills the bridging gap between clubs, players and football associations. In other words, these are the FIFA licensed players’ agents.

In June 2006, Pro Agent has been established by leading Dutch players’ agents in possession of a FIFA license issued by the KNVB. Pro Agent represents the interests of players’ agents on the (inter)national stage of “football politics”. Pro Agent respects the organisational structure of the sector and seeks to achieve efficiency; transparency and legal certainty in (inter)national football.
